The ZOLL AED Plus Pedi-Padz II are critical lifesaving tools designed specifically for emergencies involving sudden cardiac arrest in children and infants. Suitable for children aged under 8 years old, these paediatric electrodes are essential for use in situations where defibrillation is necessary.
When connected to the ZOLL AED Plus or ZOLL Pro defibrillators, the Pedi-Padz II automatically adjusts to child-safe energy levels. They deliver defibrillation shocks tailored to the unique requirements of young patients, significantly enhancing the chances of survival in these critical situations.
The ZOLL AED Plus Pedi-Padz are designed for pediatric use and have a shelf life of 24 months. This two-year lifespan ensures that the electrodes remain effective for use on younger patients. The pads are specifically engineered to maintain their integrity and functionality during this period. After 24 months, the Pedi-Padz should be replaced.
AEDs, especially those in low-usage environments like workplaces, public spaces, or community centres, may go years without being deployed. However, electrode pads naturally degrade over time. If not replaced before their expiration date, there is a risk the AED will fail during an emergency due to corroded or expired pads. The two-year shelf life of the ZOLL Pedi-Padz II ensures that replacement is needed less frequently, reducing costs and simplifying maintenance.
By replacing the pads regularly and ensuring they’re not expired, you ensure your ZOLL AED Plus is always ready for immediate use, which can make a critical difference during a cardiac emergency.
The urgency of a cardiac emergency, particularly with children, cannot be overstated. The ZOLL Pedi-Padz II are essential in providing rapid and effective response in such critical moments. Ideally, these paediatric electrodes should be readily accessible wherever there is potential for such emergencies, ensuring that every second counts:
