Resuscitation & CPR

Protect yourself with confidence while providing lifesaving CPR.

When you’re faced with treating a sudden cardiac arrest victim or an unresponsive, non-breathing casualty, providing hygienic CPR using a resusciade device (often in conjunction with an AED) can help you to save a life when every second counts.

Our range of mouth-to-mouth resuscitation devices, including disposable CPR One-Way Valve Face Shields, handy Resusciade Keyrings and Resuscitation Pocket Face Masks that you can carry with you at all times, are designed to assist you with CPR treatment while protecting you and the casualty from cross-contamination and the spread of infection.

We also stock a highly visible Essential Life Saving CPR Resuscitation Sign that can be wall-mounted to provide clear, visual and written step-by-step instructions to support both trained and untrained responders when tasked with performing CPR in an emergency.

Why is protecting yourself while providing CPR so important?

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), often referred to as ‘mouth to mouth’ or giving ‘rescue breaths’ presents the risk of cross-contamination between the treatment provider and casualty. The potential transfer of saliva, mucus, and other bodily fluids, such as blood, due to mouth-to-mouth contact means that there is a risk of passing on infections and illness.

Some infectious agents that can be transferred via un-protected mouth to mouth contact (without a resuscitation device) include:

SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)
Influenza (flu)
HIV
Hepatitis B and C (HBV and HCV)
Tuberculosis
Measles
Ebola Virus
Meningococcal Disease (Neisseria meningitidis)
Chickenpox and Shingles
Herpes Simplex Virus

These infectious agents present various health risks, especially for vulnerable people, so it’s essential that emergency responders are equipped with reliable, high-quality resuscitation devices that offer protection while potentially life-saving CPR is provided.
