Steps to Change the Battery in a ZOLL AED 3 Defibrillator:

  1. Turn Over the Defibrillator
    Carefully turn the ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator over to access the battery compartment.
  2. Remove the Pad Packet
    Locate the pad packet on the back of the defibrillator and remove it by pulling it out.
  3. Remove the Existing Battery
    Find the battery inside the compartment. Unclick the old battery by gently pulling it out of the slot.
  4. Insert the New Battery
    Take the new ZOLL AED 3 battery and insert it into the battery compartment. Push down firmly until you hear a click, indicating that the battery is properly installed.
  5. Re-insert the Pad Packet
    After replacing the battery, reinsert the pad packet back into its place on the back of the defibrillator.
  6. Allow the Device to Perform a Self-Test
    Once the new battery is installed, the ZOLL AED 3 will automatically perform a self-test. Wait for the device to complete the self-check.

  5. Turn Off the Devices
    -After the test, turn off both the ZOLL AED 3 and the simulator.

If the AED continues to beep, remove it from service and contact ZOLL Technical Service.

CHANGE BATTERY

Replace the battery pack.

If the message persists, remove the AED from service and contact ZOLL Technical Service.

PLUG IN PADS CABLE

Ensure that the defibrillation pads cable is properly plugged into the patient cable connector.

If the message persists, remove the AED from service and contact ZOLL Technical Service.

CHECK PADS

Reattach pads.

If the message persists, attach new pads.

ANALYSIS HALTED; KEEP PATIENT STILL

Keep the patient still during ECG analysis. If transporting the patient by stretcher or vehicle, stop all patient movement during analysis.

If the message persists, remove the AED from service and contact ZOLL Technical Service.

NO SHOCK DELIVERED

The Shock button was not pressed or an internal error occurred. When prompted to press the button, do so within 30 seconds.

If an internal error occurred (no shock was delivered when the Shock button was pressed properly), remove the AED from service and contact ZOLL Technical Service.

RELEASE SHOCK BUTTON

Release the Shock button. Do not press the button until the charge-ready tone sounds and the button begins flashing.

If the message persists, remove the AED from service and contact ZOLL Technical Service.

ATTACH CORRECT DEFIB PADS

Attach one of the following compatible defibrillation pads to the AED: CPR Uni-padz, CPR-D padz, CPR Stat padz, Pedi-Padz II (child pads), Stat-padz II

If the message persists, remove the AED from service and contact ZOLL Technical Service.

REPLACE PADS

Attach new defibrillation pads to the AED.
