A multifunctional immobilisation device used to stabilise and support injuries across various parts of the body, trusted by NASA and the military. This versatile splint’s size and flexibility make it suitable for splinting broader areas like arms and legs, and even for making supportive wraps for rib injuries.
A medium-sized SAM® pelvic binder belt and splint device for stabilising pelvic fractures. Clinically tested and designed for precise support, this pelvic sling features a patented Autostop buckle which prevents the risk of over or under-tightening, protecting the casualty. The SAM® Pelvic Sling II plays a critical role in the right hour following serious trauma, reducing the risk of severe haemorrhage during transfer.
Ingenious, durable, and versatile vacuum splints for the stabilisation and support of various limb injuries. Crafted from durable, vinyl-coated nylon, Ferno vacuum splints’ granulated design can be inflated and moulded to the patient’s body, so when the air is removed, the splint becomes rigid, providing secure support for the injured area.
Select the most suitable size of SAM Splint for the size of the patient's limb. Create a ‘C-Curve’ shape out of the splint, so that the wrist and forearm can rest in it comfortably.
Using your own arm as the guide, mould the SAM Splint to the underside (or little finger) side of your hand, wrist and forearm to create the required shape.
Apply the SAM Splint to the casualty’s arm and wrist. Make any necessary adjustments to ensure it’s comfortable and secure.
Fix the SAM Splint in place firmly but not too tightly with a wrap of choice (a cohesive bandage or crepe bandage is ideal).
The SAM Splint, created by Dr. Sam Scheinberg, is known for its flexibility, strength, and reusability, making it vital for emergency care. Used globally by professionals, it can adapt to any limb, providing support in a wide range of scenarios, from outdoor rescues to space missions. Check out this article to learn more.
