How to use the ZOLL AED 3 Battery Pack
- Installing the Battery: Insert the ZOLL AED 3 battery pack into the designated slot on the back of the AED unit until it clicks into place. Ensure that the battery is installed before the "install by" date for optimal performance.
- Monitoring Battery Status: Once installed, the battery regularly reports its status to the AED's management system. You can check battery status through the AED's touchscreen in Management Mode or use the "INFO" button to access details.
- Battery Life Considerations: The battery has a standby life of up to 5 years with weekly self-tests enabled, or up to 3 years if daily self-tests are configured. WiFi connectivity may reduce battery life, especially in areas with weak signals.
- Replacement and Disposal: When the battery is nearing the end of its life, the AED will display a blank status window, typically indicating around 9 remaining shocks. At this point, replace the battery with a new ZOLL AED 3 battery pack. Dispose of used batteries in accordance with local regulations.
- Storage: If storing before installation, keep the battery at a stable temperature of 23°C (77°F) for up to 2 years to maintain the 5-year standby life once installed.
