Owing to their use of needles, the Health and Safety Executive advises that tattoo and piercing shops take appropriate steps to minimise the risk of blood-borne infection. These precautions should be taken in addition to wider health and safety measures to protect staff and customers under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
Sharp objects and the potential for exposure to blood-borne pathogens (as well as cross-contamination of tools), along with potentially hazardous chemicals mean that strict hygiene protocols must be followed in tattoo and piercing shops. Using the right hygiene equipment helps you to keep your business as safe, clean, and professional as possible.
Tattoo and Piercing Shop PPE
