Jelonet dressings provide a convenient solution to wound management and are designed to be easily cut to size as required. Here are the other sizes we provide:

Jelonet Dressing on Hand

Jelonet 10x10cm dressings cover a generous area or can be cut to size. Protect and soothe sensitive open wounds while the body heals.

The Jelonet 10x10 dressing is ideal for wounds healing by secondary intention, including burns, scalds, abrasions, ulcers, lacerations, skin graft donor and recipient sites, and cracked nipples.

A semi-occlusive primary burncare dressing layer, Jelonet keeps the wound bed moist and helps the body’s natural healing process along. It’s wicking properties allow exudate to pass freely through the dressing, helping the wound to drain without drying out.

Cut this sterile Jelonet 10 x 10 dressing to the perfect size. The fray-resistant weave will not come apart, and there’s no worry about fibres getting stuck to the wound. As a non-medicated dressing, it can be used with topical treatments, locking them in against the wound for maximum effectiveness.

How to Use Jelonet 10cm x 10cm Dressings

Before Application

Begin by ensuring the wound is clean and dry. If you're using a topical treatment, apply it before the dressing.

Applying the Dressing

Step 1 - Place the dressing over the wound

1. Gently place the Jelonet dressing over the wound, ensuring it covers the entire area. Its soft white paraffin impregnation on a leno weave helps to keep the wound moist.

Step 2 Place a secondary dressing on top

2. As Jelonet is a primary contact layer, ensure you use a secondary dressing to secure it in place and to absorb any excess exudate.

Step 3 Removing the dressing

3. The non-adherent nature of Jelonet means it's easy to remove, minimising trauma to the wound. Simply lift an edge and gently peel it away.

Step 4 changing the dressing

4. For optimum wound care, change the Jelonet dressing daily. Its semi-occlusive nature provides protection from contaminants, but it's essential to keep the wound fresh and clean.

Disposal

After removal, safely dispose of the used dressing.

Please note: Jelonet is sterile until the packet is opened. Always handle with clean hands or use sterile gloves of necessary.

When to seek medical assistance

While the Jelonet 10cm x 10cm dressing is expertly designed to promote natural healing for various wounds, there are moments when it's crucial to consult a medical professional:

  • Worsening Condition of the Wound: If you observe the wound enlarging, deepening, or causing increased pain, these may be indications of improper healing.
  • Signs of Infection: Be vigilant for symptoms like yellowish pus, persistent redness, warmth around the wound, or an unpleasant smell. These are typical signs of an infection.
  • High Levels of Exudate: Although Jelonet is effective for light to moderate exudate, consistently high levels could suggest a more serious issue.
  • Slow Healing: If a minor wound shows no substantial improvement within a week, or larger wounds are not progressing in healing, it's time to seek medical attention.
  • Allergic Reactions or Sensitivities: Should you experience any allergic reactions to the dressing, such as itching or rashes, immediate consultation with a healthcare provider is crucial.
  • Unusual Symptoms: Numbness, discolouration (like a bluish hue), or excessive swelling around the wound are serious symptoms that require professional evaluation.
