Bridging the care gap with Smart Triage™ First Response: A new era in emergency readiness.

In today’s rapidly changing world, the Smart Triage™ First Response is the ideal solution in the critical moments following unexpected incidents. This advanced triage system was developed in response to the urgent need for quicker medical intervention in emergencies, a lesson starkly underscored by the tragic Manchester Arena bombing. The 'care gap', the vital time between an injury occurring and the start of effective treatment from medical professionals, can mean the difference between life and death.

The Smart Triage™ First Response is designed to significantly decrease this waiting time. It equips first responders – be they security personnel, first aiders, or members of emergency services such as the fire brigade and police – with the tools necessary to act swiftly and effectively. Despite its compact size this system packs a punch. Being 100% waterproof and highly visible, it’s not only easy to carry but also reliable in various conditions. It's an essential tool for anyone who could find themselves as a first responder in multi-casualty scenarios, providing a streamlined, efficient means to initiate triage and close the 'care gap' effectively. Its design is intuitive, ensuring that it meets the demanding requirements of frontline situations and aids in performing critical tasks under pressure.

How to Use the Smart Triage™ First Response Kit

Using the SmartTag Triage Sticks

Once you have identified the priority of the patient, secure the stick using its latex-free band either to an available limb or attach to the clothing of the casualty. There's a designated space on the stick for jotting down notes when feasible. For optimal legibility, we recommend using a Sharpie pen or a similar permanent marker.

The SmartTag triage sticks can be slotted into the holder of a SmartTriage tag. This method ensures pertinent details about the triage process are preserved, potentially aiding in any future investigations or enquiries.

Using the Casualty Counter

The exterior of the SmartTriage pouch features a casualty counter, an invaluable tool to keep tabs on the number and the criticality of individuals you've triaged.

This counter can remain affixed to the pouch or be detached based on your preference. As you triage, mark off the relevant number correlating to the priority assigned. This organised approach not only streamlines the triage process but also simplifies handovers to subsequent response teams.
