- Hold the Laryngoscope: Grip the laryngoscope handle with your left hand.
- Insert the Laryngoscope Blade: Gently open the patient's mouth and introduce the blade. When advancing, exert gentle upward traction along the handle's axis at a 45° angle. Avoid using teeth or gums as leverage points.
- Visualise the Foreign Body: Watch the laryngoscope's tip until the obstruction becomes visible. Do not surpass the vocal cords. Use suction to clear any secretions and improve your view if needed.
- Introduce the Magill Forceps: With the tips closed, insert the forceps into the mouth.
