SAM® Chest Seal 2.0: Advanced Solution for Treating Open Chest Wounds

The SAM® Chest Seal 2.0 is a critical advancement in medical technology, specifically designed to address the life-threatening challenges of open chest wounds. This product is a testament to meticulous engineering, offering a dependable solution that can seal and reseal wounds under a variety of demanding circumstances. With its swift and straightforward application, the SAM® Chest Seal adheres firmly, unaffected by extreme temperatures or environmental conditions.

A standout feature of the SAM® Chest Seal is its TRUFLOW™ Valve, a robust, dome-shaped structure that guarantees one-way airflow from the chest cavity, even in the most austere operating environments. This feature is crucial in reducing the risk of pneumothorax, a common complication of chest injuries. The design of the valve also minimises blockage from internal elements such as blood clots or soft tissue, ensuring continuous venting regardless of the patient’s position or external pressures, such as heavy body armor.

The effectiveness of the SAM® Chest Seal is further enhanced by its superior Hydrogel adhesive. This adhesive is specifically formulated to maintain a strong bond in challenging conditions, including the presence of blood, sweat, hair, sand, or water. Remarkably, even after removal for venting purposes, the seal can be reapplied, maintaining its protective capabilities.
