How to use LiquiBand Wound Glue

Using LiquiBand® is a straightforward process that can be done in three simple steps:

  1. Step 1: Begin by holding the applicator upright and squeezing the wings until you hear a cracking sound. This indicates that the applicator is ready to be used.
  2. Step 2: Invert the tip of the applicator and gently squeeze the wings to prime it. You will know that the LiquiBand® is ready to use when the tip fills with adhesive. Before applying, ensure that the wound is completely clean and dry.
  3. Step 3: Hold the edges of the wound together and apply an even coat of LiquiBand® along the length of the wound. Continue holding the wound edges together for 30 seconds to ensure proper adhesion.

A few additional notes to keep in mind: If using LiquiBand® in areas with dense natural hair, be cautious as over-application may cause damage to hair follicles.

When applying near the eye area, adjust the patient’s position accordingly. Use petroleum jelly to create a barrier close to the wound, and protect the patient’s eyes with surgical gauze.

When to Seek Medical Assistance

It is important to seek medical advice before using LiquiBand Wound Glue if you are unsure about the suitability of the product for your wound. Always consult a healthcare professional if:

  • The wound is deep or gaping and the edges cannot be easily brought together.
  • The wound is infected or shows signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, or warmth.
  • The wound is on the face or another sensitive area where scarring may be a concern.
  • You have a medical condition or are taking medication that may affect the healing process.
  • Additionally, if you experience any adverse reactions or complications after using the product, such as persistent redness, swelling, or pain, seek medical advice immediately.
