What Are Sani-Cloth® AF Wipes Used for?
Sani-Cloth® AF wipes (formerly known as PDI Sani-Cloth Universal Wipes) are disposable disinfectant wipes used in a range of settings. The wipes are made with a formula that kills a broad spectrum of potentially infectious agents. They’re also made with a detergent that cleans simultaneously as disinfects.
Sani-Cloth AF® wipes are intended for use on virtually any non-porous surface and can be used in many different environments from hospitals to care homes to dental clinics, vet clinics, beauty salons, and more.

Surfaces
Sani-Cloth® AF antibacterial wipes can be used on hard surfaces to damp dust, spot clean, and disinfect. They are not made with bleach or other corrosive substances that will damage materials, but it’s important to remember that they are only effective on non-porous, hard surfaces. This is because bacteria and other microorganisms can get trapped in the tiny cracks and crevices on porous surfaces and cannot be reached by a wipe.

Sani-Cloth® AF wipes are pre-moistened with disinfectant solution meaning there’s no need to mix and make up cleaning solutions. There’s no need to use extra materials such as disposable cloths. Because of this, cleaning and disinfecting times can be cut down and streamlined.
Examples of surfaces Sani-Cloth® AF wipes can be used on:
- Examination beds and chairs.
- Windows, walls, and screens.
- Worksurfaces and countertops.
- Privacy curtains (if they are plastic).
- Touchpoints like door handles, buttons, and railings.
Devices
Sani-Cloth® AF wipes can also be used to clean and disinfect non-invasive medical devices, provided they are made from non-porous materials.
What is a non-invasive medical device?
A non-invasive medical device is a tool that does not enter the body, either through an orifice or an open wound. Invasive tools require a much higher level of disinfection and are usually sterilised using an autoclave to reduce all harmful microorganisms to zero. Non-invasive devices don’t need such a high level of decontamination because the skin’s barrier will protect the body from any potentially infectious material.
Still, it’s important to maintain good levels of hygiene to minimise the chance of cross contamination at all touchpoints.

PDI Sani-Cloth® AF Wipes are ideal for all uses above. Made with quaternary ammonium and detergent solution, Sani-Cloth® AF Wipes are alcohol-free, unlike other universal wipes. They kill a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi, and viruses (including Covid-19 and norovirus). They also eradicate TB, something that not all quat-based disinfectants can do.
The lack of alcohol means these wipes can be used around patients sensitive to alcohol, like young children and those with respiratory problems.
