Naloxone Injection Ampoules 400mcg/ml are supplied as a sterile solution for injection or infusion in 1ml clear glass ampoules. Each ampoule contains 0.4mg naloxone hydrochloride, with sodium chloride, diluted hydrochloric acid and water for injections as excipients.
This product is used in clinical settings where opioid exposure is suspected or confirmed, including cases involving respiratory or central nervous system depression. It may also be used when assessing suspected acute opioid overdose or intoxication, and in neonatal care where opioid-related respiratory depression is being managed following maternal opioid use.
The ampoules should be stored in the outer carton to protect them from light and kept below 25°C. Once opened, the product should be used immediately. Diluted solutions should also be stored below 25°C and, where not used straight away, handled in line with appropriate storage and aseptic preparation requirements.
