What are Calpol Six Plus Fastmelts used for?

Calpol Six Plus Fastmelts are strawberry-flavoured paracetamol tablets for children aged 6 years and over, as well as adults. They melt on the tongue without the need for water, making them a convenient option at home or when out and about. Each tablet contains 250mg of paracetamol and can be used for the relief of pain and fever associated with cold and flu symptoms, headache, toothache, earache, sore throat, post-immunisation fever, and other everyday aches and pains.

They are particularly useful for children who do not like or struggle to swallow tablets, as each strawberry-flavoured tablet melts on the tongue and can be taken without water. They may also be used by older children, teenagers and adults, following the dosage instructions on the pack. This product is not recommended for children under 6 years old.

How to Use Calpol Six Plus Fastmelts

For oral use only. To remove a tablet, use a fingernail to break the foil along the dotted line, then press the tablet out. The tablet should be sucked gently until it melts on the tongue. Water is not needed. If preferred, it can be dissolved in a teaspoon of water or milk before taking.

Use the dose that matches the age group below:

• Children 6–9 years: 1 tablet
• Children 9–12 years: 2 tablets
• Children 12–16 years: 2–3 tablets
• Adults and children over 16 years: 2–4 tablets

Doses can be taken every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours, and always leave at least 4 hours between doses.

Do not give with any other product containing paracetamol. Not recommended for children under 6 years. Do not use for more than 3 days without speaking to a doctor or pharmacist.
