Anyone who knows Steroplast Healthcare knows that we care about the local community. We’re always looking for ways to become more involved with it, and to strengthen it by bringing like-minded people together.
That’s why we’ve decided to host a series of events designed to bring together professionals from the medical, academic, sport and health environment, as well as anyone working to increase participation, and improve performance and rehabilitation from sporting injuries. Called the Sports Injury Network North West, these (free) events will allow individual attendees to benefit while contributing to the shared aims of the group. For example the group may share the latest research findings and, through collaboration, could identify new areas for research and development of product solutions. Members of the Network will have the opportunity to share challenges and best practice, and discuss the future direction of the group.
Sports Injury Network North West Events
The inaugural event will take place at Steroplast Healthcare in Manchester (M22) on Wednesday 3rd April at 4.30pm, and it is a mark of the potential of the new network that Paralympian, scientist and writer, Hannah Dines, has agreed to speak. Hannah Dines is the current 100m world record holder and European gold medallist in RaceRunning.
After achieving 5th place in the 2016 Rio Paralympics with British Cycling, she is now ranked 4th in the world, and manages to find time to combine the roles of disability support worker and freelance journalist with her training. Her presentation on 3rd April will be called ‘Three Wheeled World Domination – the alternative Paralympic journey’.
“After speaking with several of our partners regarding sports injuries and rehabilitation, it was clear that Steroplast could help by enabling local professionals to collaborate and work together to make a difference. Our intention is to put Manchester and the North West on the map as the leading place for innovation in the sports field, pitch, court, track or wherever the action happens!”
