We are very happy to announce our latest sporting partnership. We have donned our whites and joined forces with Myerscough College Cricket in Manchester. Working alongside the staff, we will help them to keep the students safe and injury free throughout the season. We’re excited to see these young players progress. Hopefully, helping to create the next generation of cricketing champions.
Courses direct from Old Trafford Cricket Ground
If you're a student hoping to make it big in the cricketing world. Look no further than the fantastic courses on offer at Myerscough College. They provide the perfect opportunity to achieve the dream job. That to many youngsters can seem too good to be true, and too far out of reach.
The course itself is open to cricketers of all abilities. Starting from absolute beginners upwards, so you don’t have to be Freddie Flintoff! Students are given an excellent cricketing education from dedicated staff. Helping to open the door to amazing opportunities, working within the cricket and sports sector. The study programme was recently voted among the best in the country by ‘The Cricketer’ magazine.
What’s more, the college works in partnership with Lancashire County Cricket Club. Even running cricket studies courses directly from Emirates Old Trafford – home to some of the sport’s greatest ever players: Clive Lloyd, Brian Stratham, Wasim Akram, Glen Chapple, James Anderson and many more (sincere apologies to any Yorkshire fans).
Throughout the courses, students complete a wide range of sports coaching and science subjects, whilst also competing in competitive cricket. Training and playing in local and national competitions at Old Trafford itself. Many players on the course have gone on to play cricket at a professional level. In January, Myerscough student Jack Morley was called up to the England Young Lions to tour Bangladesh.
Providing the very best in injury treatment and prevention
Steroplast will be supporting Myerscough, providing the kits and consumables they need for first aid and sports injury treatment. We will be providing them with sports medical kits, kinesiology tape and zinc oxide tape. Helping the players stay safe during the games, and training sessions throughout the season.
When asked about the partnership with Steroplast, Dan Atkinson, the programme leader said:
‘We are really excited to be able to set up this partnership with Steroplast Healthcare. We have grown considerably over the past few years and are continuing to do so. It’s brilliant that Steroplast have agreed to partner with us at such a key time.
The health, wellbeing and recovery of our students is vital to us, as is educating them for later life, and throughout their careers. I’m really pleased that Steroplast share those values as well and have agreed to work with us to provide first aid, rehabilitation and medical supplies. Allowing our students, the best chance of preventing any injury, or speeding up their recovery.
It’s also important to us to work closely with local companies. With Steroplast being based here in Manchester, they really offer a personal and friendly touch to their service. I’m really looking forward to partnering with them moving forward.’
